My dad has always had a garden for as long as I can remember and still does. His love for gardening and growing his own vegetables was definitely passed down. When we lived in western Colorado, the heat was amazing for growing all sorts of fresh veggies and flowers. Since we moved back to the mountains, our growing season is a lot shorter and more difficult to garden. About 8 years ago, my husband and I had a beautiful garden with 8 raised beds and a beautiful greenhouse. Now that we're off grid, we've been trying different things to see what will work best for us. Our latest attempt was a small garden on the north side of the cabin. It didn't work out that great. So this year, we have big plans to move it to the back of the house where we can fence off a chunk of space, add raised beds and a new geodesic dome greenhouse.
